Thrive Suite Review + What 6 Years of Using It Taught Me

If you are a solo entrepreneur who doesn’t want to spend thousands of dollars over creating your websites and sales funnels every month, Thrive Suite can be your swiss-knife.

After testing over six alternatives, I picked Thrive suite. It was popular as Thrive themes membership in those days, and it didn’t have the best-in-the-market features, to be honest. I tried OptimizePress, Clickfunnels, Kartra, and many other tools before settling for Thrive Themes, and now, I feel it was one of the best decisions of my life.

What you should know about Thrive Suite

What is Inside the Box

Thrive Suite is not just a single plugin or Theme. When you purchase your subscription, you receive a set of plugins (Architect, Leads, Apprentice, Quiz Builder, Ultimatum, Ovation, Optimize and Comments) plus Theme Builder with its companion themes. Awesome Motive, the company behind WPForms and OptinMonster, has owned Thrive Themes since January 2023.

All of these scripts work with each other to create a complete tech infrastructure for your business. Each one covers a different part of the stack.

Thrive Architect: WordPress Page Builder

Thrive architect - LIVE

Thrive Architect works with pages, blogs, and even product pages. It’s an intuitive and user-friendly landing page builder.

I designed sales pages, checkout pages, homepages and blog posts with Thrive Architect’s live visual editor. You can add third-party tracking codes and any custom scripts for single pages with Thrive Architect without editing the theme itself.

Thrive Theme Builder

Theme Builder lets you edit the entire look and feel of your website with a few clicks, like the theme builders in Elementor Pro and Divi, without leaving the Thrive toolkit. It also comes with tens of pre-made blog post templates and minimal design blocks and step-by-step setup wizards that will make your life a lot easier.

Theme Builder can help you create separate audio posts, video posts, and product pages. It is beneficial for brand consistency and visitor participation.

Thrive Apprentice: Online Course Builder

Apprentice - live screenshot

One of my favorite parts of the entire suite is Thrive Apprentice. It’s a learning management system for creators and coaches who want to sell online courses. Without paying anything extra, you can host courses and manage students from your WordPress dashboard.

Thrive Apprentice has a built-in Stripe checkout for one-time, subscription and free-trial pricing, and it also integrates with SendOwl. This way, if you have any plan to offer courses in the future, you don’t need to look for another compatible to do so.

Beautiful Landing Page Templates

Thrive Themes suite has a massive library of over 300 landing page templates. You can import any of them to build any page. I used them for my own homepage, for example.

Thrive Ultimatum: Advanced Scarcity Marketing Package

Thrive ultimatum

If you are familiar with digital marketing, you should be aware of scarcity marketing or otherwise called FOMO (Fear of missing out). Amazon uses it, so does booking.com. With Ultimatum, you can launch “limited time” products and even create attractive count-down timers. This increases sales and conversion rates without you trying to do the heavy lifting

Thrive Leads: Lead Generation Suite

WordPress opt-in report showing 34 impressions, 22 opt-ins and a 64.71% conversion rate

Thrive Leads offers a native lead generation system. It includes popup builder, in-page lead forms, and widgets that you can use all over your website. Further, you can create custom lead forms, opt-in forms, custom popup login pages, or use from the available ones.

Thrive Leads can be integrated with third-party email marketing services like Kit (formerly ConvertKit) and GetResponse with an API management system without any hassle. It helps you grow your email list faster and with more ease.

“Leads” also offers detailed reports that you can view and export for further analysis.

Advanced Plugins (often not marketed)

Thrive plugins

Thrive leads, Apprentice, and Theme Builders are just a few notable features that come with the suite. However, there are multiple under-the-hood plugins that people rarely mention.

For example, Thrive Optimize helps you A/B test between pages. This way, you can see which lead generation page is working better, and you can direct more traffic towards it and increase conversions.

Thrive Quiz Builder can create interactive quizzes that segment visitors and grow your list.

The native comment management tool works great for engaging with your community whenever you publish for them.

You can take client testimonials and customer testimonials with Thrive Ovation and create social proof for your products.

Thrive retired Headline Optimizer and Clever Widgets in 2022, so new customers no longer get them.

When clubbed with the right WordPress sales funnel plugins, it turns your WordPress website into a conversion machine.

Thrive Suite Pricing (aka Thrive Membership)

There is no monthly plan, and agencies can buy a separate Agency License. Individual plugins are also sold on their own, with Thrive Architect from $99 a year if you only need the page builder.

Thrive Pricing vs. Competitors

ClickFunnels, a SaaS-based tool, costs $97 to $297 a month depending on the plan. Kartra, another popular sales funnel tool, runs $59 to $549 a month. Leadpages Pro and Business cost $29 and $49 a month for what Thrive Architect does.

Even at the $599 renewal, Thrive Suite costs less than ClickFunnels’ Launch plan billed yearly ($81 a month, or $972 a year). The trade-off of WordPress instead of ClickFunnels is that you handle hosting, updates and security yourself.

WordPress based solutions like Elementor is a good alternative to Thrive Suite. However, Elementor is just a landing page builder with some similar features. Thrive Suite, in the end, is way beyond a page builder. Elementor can be a good choice if you are looking for a landing page solution only.

Thrive Suite vs. Equivalent Products.

This table will help you compare how much Thrive Suite is worth when compared with individual products.

THRIVE SUITEalternativecost
Thrive Theme Builder (design your entire website)custom development$500 one time
Thrive Architect + Optimize (landing page builder)Leadpages$29/mo
Thrive Apprentice (online course management)Teachable Builder$89/mo
Thrive Ovation customer reviewCustom Development$200 one time
Thrive Quiz BuilderTypeform$35/Mo
Thrive Leadspopup builder$89/yr
thrive suite: $299 first year, then $599/yrcustom$153/mo + $89/yr + $700 one time

These figures are for comparisons. You can save money by using Elementor instead of Leadpages or LearnDash instead of Teachable. Not everything is bad with hiring custom developers either. Also, You can definitely save some time that would invest in designing your website with Thrive suite if you go for it. Still then, Thrive Suite is the superior choice, in my opinion.

Support

One of the features that amaze me with Thrive is their outstanding support.

You can comment on their posts, and their replies are crisp and fast. Or you can create a ticket, and Thrive lists 24/5 support on its pricing page. Apart from it, there is an official Thrive Themes community where thousands of other members are ready to help whenever you get stuck anywhere.

Official support is calm and knowledgeable. You can often share your credentials if required, and they will do the dirty work for you if required.

Note that Thrive suite does not offer Live chat support like WPX Hosting, but I have not seen any other competitor doing the same.

Use Cases

Thrive Suite fits a wide range of businesses:

  • Online Course website
  • E-Commerce store and merchandise
  • Consulting and Coaching website
  • Service agency website
  • Freelancer and personal brand website
  • Blogs and Online Communities
  • Affiliate marketing websites.

Final Words

While it has some limitations, Thrive offers everything you require to build a true online business infrastructure.

I chose WordPress because I didn’t want to rent my content from a SaaS-based system and live on its mercy to run my business. This is one reason I moved away from Teachable to Thrive Apprentice and Clickfunnels to Thrive Suite.

But eventually, it is your choice. While the former offers luxury, the latter offers freedom.

Thrive Suite FAQ

Is Thrive Suite worth it in 2026?

For WordPress users who want one conversion toolkit, yes. Page building, theme design, opt-ins, quizzes, courses and A/B tests come in one license for less than most SaaS funnel tools. It is the wrong pick for anyone who doesn’t want to run WordPress.

How much does Thrive Suite cost?

Thrive Suite costs $299 for the first year, then renews at $599 a year, or $149 per quarter. Each license covers up to 5 websites, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What happens if I cancel Thrive Suite?

Your existing pages, opt-in forms, landing pages and quizzes keep working. Updates, support and premium templates need an active license, so a cancelled site slowly falls behind.

Does Thrive Suite include a checkout?

Yes, for courses. Thrive Apprentice sells courses through its built-in Stripe checkout. Physical products and complex funnels still need a separate tool like WooCommerce or ThriveCart.

Who owns Thrive Themes?

Awesome Motive, the company behind WPForms and OptinMonster, acquired Thrive Themes in January 2023. Thrive Themes still sells the same products under its own name.
