Zoom Evergreen Webinar: Can Zoom Run Automated Webinars?
Zoom is a powerful video conference and training software. It can now replay a recording as a scheduled webinar, but it is still not built for evergreen webinars. So here is how you can use zoom for creating evergreen webinars.
A webinar is a real-time experience. However, webinar tools have made it possible to run a simulated live experience. Webinar Attendees can enter into the room immediately after the registrations.

Automated Webinars are like secret weapons
Webinar tools have made it possible to record your videos or get the previous webinar recording and turn them into a simulated webinar.
Don’t Use Zoom for Evergreen Webinars
because it is not meant for it
Zoom video quality is excellent and it’s rare to reach this level of quality with any other webinar software. It’s additional features like Room management and multiple hosts make it an unparalleled experience.
The zoom webinar software tool is also good for training sessions. There is an integrated email marketing feature and local recording feature available.
Sadly, there is no free webinar plan to see how it works. Zoom Webinars is a paid add-on on top of a paid Zoom Workplace plan, and Zoom now quotes its larger webinar plans through sales.
It has a recurring webinar feature and provides webinar recording features. We will use this one for creating our evergreen experience in the second method below.
But Zoom’s opt-in form is limited in features. Attendees are also pushed toward the Zoom app, even though a browser option exists.
And this is a problem. Because it limits the marketing features of the platform. It is good for online meetings but not for sales webinars.
The zoom registration form is very basic and doesn’t look appealing at all. Everyone who registers joins a session you scheduled in advance, and there is no just-in-time session that starts minutes after someone signs up.
Zoom’s reports cover registration, attendance and polls, but not sales conversions. It clearly shows, zoom is not “made for marketing”. Reminder emails go out 1 week, 1 day or 1 hour before the session, with one follow-up email after it. Nowadays, when attention span is less than five seconds, people hardly join without an even reminder 15 minutes before the session.
That said if it’s not a training session where webinar attendees already know they can’t skip.
Zoom customer support is really poor. It took me 3 weeks to finally reach out to a “human” while struggling with a webinar feature I wanted to cancel.
With limited webinar automation and a lack of marketing features available, Zoom is not reliable for a webinar strategy that brings leads and sales.
What Zoom Simulive can and cannot do
Simulive is Zoom’s answer to pre-recorded webinars. It plays a recording from your Zoom cloud at the time you schedule, while chat, Q&A and polls stay live for the audience.
That makes Simulive a good fit for a training replay or a one-off recorded event. A sales webinar that should run every day for months needs a tool built around that schedule.
So, now you understand why it’s important to go for a new webinar software tool. So let’s dive into both the methods.
There are two methods to use pre-recorded videos or an existing webinar to turn into an automated webinar event.
- First, by switching from zoom to an automated webinar platform like EasyWebinar. Here you have luxury to run LIVE webinars and if you like, you can turn them into automated webinars as soon as you finish.
- And second, you can use Clickfunnels where you can create your automated webinar funnel after downloading recordings from zoom.
Both the options are amazing. Let me quickly help you to pick which one would be better for you.
from Zoom to Automated Webinars
First method
Switching from Zoom to Automated Webinar Platform
This is a great choice if you are actively running your webinars but you want to scale faster with automated webinars along the way.
Using a platform like EasyWebinar will help you to run LIVE webinars and give you more control over your webinar funnel.
Live webinars are great for active promotion and your “bottom-of-the-funnel” audience.
You will surely see a better conversion from attendee to customer in live webinars.
However, you can not scale 24x7 with LIVE webinars. And investing your time doing LIVE webinar every day might not be a good idea as a business owner.
In this case, going for a Tool like EasyWebinar would be a great deal.
If you are wondering why I am sharing EasyWebinar and not Demio or other popular names, I have actually tested out a dozon of webinar platforms and picked it.
How to Switch from Zoom to Automated Webinars
Step 1
Get a free trial of EasyWebinar
Step 2
Host your first LIVE webinar (it automatically records your webinar on their cloud)
Step 3
Create an “evergreen event” and use “previous event” as the video for this webinar.
Second Method
Using Clickfunnels to Build an Evergreen Webinar Funnel
Clickfunnels is not just a great tool for building sales funnels and increasing revenue with order bumps and upsells. You can actually use the power of Evergreen webinars with this software.
Here is a step by step guide
If you don’t have a Clickfunnels account, you can get 14-day free trial
It is this simple. You might have guessed why I am recommending Clickfunnels over other software.
Automated Webinar software tools have three main purpose
- To sell your products and service
- To build your brand on autopilot
- To generate leads for your business while you sleep
In every situation, you might want to invest more time selling your product instead designing your landing pages. And instead of hiring an expensive developer, Clickfunnels will save tonnes of money and time for you.
Final Verdict
Zoom automated webinar is possible if you are using an alternative software in addition to it.
Switching from Zoom to a LIVE+Automated webinar platform would be a great choice for you if you are looking for a one-end solution for your all webinar needs.
EasyWebinar or Demio can host your LIVE webinars and let you put them on autopilot parallelly.
With amazing marketing features, email marketing and call to action order buttons, and great visual quality, EasyWebinar has everything that you need in a solid webinar tool.
With scheduling features like Time-zone, and natural follow-up email sequence, this can be a solid platform for growth in your business.
You can use it for group training, live sessions, recurring webinars and sales events. It’s integrated marketing platform also removes the need for third-party software or developer for designing a dedicated webinar registration page.
In short, it has got everything to run an effective webinar and an unbeatable webinar strategy.
However, if you are looking for a separate solution for automated software and you want to keep running Live Webinars on Zoom, you should go for Clickfunnels based solution.
FAQ
Can Zoom run evergreen webinars?
Not on its own. Zoom’s Simulive feature plays a cloud recording at a time you schedule, but every session is set up in advance. Evergreen platforms run sessions on a rolling schedule, including just-in-time sessions that start minutes after someone registers.
What is Zoom Simulive?
Simulive plays a pre-recorded cloud recording as a webinar at a scheduled time, without the host present. Chat, Q&A and polls stay live during playback, but the chat from the original recording is not replayed.
Which Zoom plan includes Simulive?
According to Zoom’s community team, Simulive needs a Zoom Events or Zoom Sessions license on top of a Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education account. A standard Zoom Webinars license does not include it.
How do I turn a Zoom recording into an automated webinar?
Download the recording from Zoom. Then either upload it to an evergreen webinar platform such as EasyWebinar, or host it on YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia and embed it in a ClickFunnels webinar funnel with an evergreen countdown timer.
